GWorld 2.0 is coming to Campus Sept. 16 and 17 Come and Get It.
As you know, the University recently announced the launch of GWorld 2.0! GWorld 2.0 enhances campus security and adds additional features to the GWorld card program. With GWorld 2.0, you'll get a new GWorld card and see new card readers being installed on our campuses and at our Colonial Cash partner establishments.
The GWorld Card Office is now issuing new cards. In order to expedite the recarding process, the GWorld Card Office will be setting up a full-service (photo-taking and card-printing) remote carding station for students, faculty, and staff at the GW Virginia Science and Technology Campus on the following dates:
Sept. 16 and 17
Lower Level lobby
4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Note: If you can't make it to the remote carding session at the Virginia Science and Technology Campus or to the Foggy Bottom GWorld office, visit http://gworld.gwu.edu for information about how to get your new GWorld Card.
How much time should I plan when I go to get my new card?
It will take approximately five minutes to process your new GWorld card. We recommend visiting the remote carding station early in the day when we expect any lines to be at their shortest.
What can I expect when I get to the remote carding station?
You will turn in your current GWorld card, and verify the spelling of your name and employment status. Your photo will be taken, and your new card will be printed and tested to ensure that it works properly. Your new GWorld card will have all the access rights and account balances of your current card.
What if I don't get a new GWorld?
We'll keep reminding you, but GW will be replacing the current card readers with new GWorld 2.0 card readers on a rolling basis. After the new system is fully transitioned, you will need a new GWorld card to use your Colonial Cash and to access campus facilities such as secure office buildings, libraries, the Lerner Health and Wellness Center, academic buildings after hours and parking garages.
