Systems Technology
The Executive Master of Science in Information Systems program brings together working professionals completing the 36-credit program in 15 months. Students take the equivalent of a full-time academic load while maintaining their full-time careers. Students meet one complete day per week on an alternating Friday or Saturday schedule. Classes run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., typically in two four-hour blocks. Cohorts are formed only in the fall semester, and participants are carefully selected based on experience with a focus on managerial and decision-making responsibilities and technical skills. Classes are offered only at the Virginia Science and Technology Campus in Ashburn.
M.S. in Information Systems Technology
The Master of Science in Information Systems Technology (MSIST) degree is one of a select few approved to award the CIO University Certificate.The 33-credit program provides a thorough understanding of information systems and technologies along with relevant management, communication, and decision-making skills.
Students may complete the degree through full-time or part-time study. Classes have day, evening, and weekend attendance options. They are held at the Virginia Science and Technology Campus in Ashburn, as well as in Arlington and at the Foggy Bottom Campus. A typical part-time student will complete the degree requirements in 24 months while full-time students usually complete them in one year.
